December 5th, 1964: Ringo in his University College Hospital bed in London. Ringo’s ongoing tonsillitis caught up with him, and they were finally removed. A special hotline and bulletin board were installed at the hospital to cope with the thousands of calls the staff was receiving from fans inquiring about the drummer’s condition. There was even the odd call requesting to collect the infected gland.
